Festive Autumn Festivals You Can Easily Fall For

Autumn is here! And that means a period of delicious festivals and events all around the country, harvesting fruits and vegetables typical for this time of the year and of course the magical Rtveli itself – a traditional vintage and rural harvest holiday in Georgia accompanied by feasts, musical events and other celebrations. Here we gathered information about different products’ festivals that are planned to be held in September and October.

Tbilisoba

“Tbilisoba” is an annual October festival which celebrates the diversity and history of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. It was first held on October 28, 1979, and eventually became an established tradition of the capital. Beyond celebrating the city’s past and present, people from all over Georgia bring their goods to represent their region at the fair of the harvest.

This year “Tbilisoba” will be held on 5th and 6th of October, at Orbeliani Square and the surrounding area and at Rike Park as well.

Unique Georgian Taste” at Dedaena Park

“Stall” and “FAO Georgia” are organizing autumn agromarket “Unique Georgian Taste” in Dedaena Park. Market dates are September 14 and 15. At this two day delicious event you can find and taste European and Georgian cheese varieties, Kakhetian, Imeretian, and Adjaraian wines, honey, confectionery and sweets, ham and other meat products, Abkhazian ajika, Georgian tea, almond products and many more goods from different regions of Georgia.

Autumn Cheese Festival” at Mtatsminda Park

Mtatsminda Park traditionally organizes a cheese festival around the central square of the park.

On 15th of September, guests can taste unique Georgian cheese and a variety of products.

Many farmers and companies are gathering from different parts of Georgia to present their goods for festival attendees. To make it more festive, an event will be accompanied by live music.

Georgian Wine Festival

On 12th of October, 6th edition of Georgian Wine Festival will host their guests at Sioni and Shardeni street.

Traditionally, on this day, diverse Georgian taste, aromas, and sounds will unite hundreds of local and foreign visitors in one space where small, medium, and large wine cellars present their products to the guests.

Besides wine, the festival will also provide various types of traditional Georgian products: bread, churchkhela, dried fruit, cheese, honey and other goods. The festival includes exhibition-sale and tasting.

Kardanakhi Wine Festival

Hotel “Ampello” and wine company “Kardanakhi 1888” are organizing the Kardanakhi Wine Festival in Kakheti Region, village Kardanakhi, on 5th of October.

The main purpose of the festival is to promote Kardanakhi wine and local wines, to discover new varieties and unknown wines. Meeting and getting to know the producers directly.

Festival guests can participate in crushing grapes, chacha distillation and tasting, dipping churchkhela, baking Kakhetian shoti bread, barbecue grilling and in various master classes.

The event will be accompanied by live music.

Tbilisi’s Whisky Festival 2024

“Whisky Days Georgia” in collaboration with GD Alco and Whisky House are organizing Tbilisi’s Whisky Festival 2024. Festival will take place on 21 and 22 of September in exhibition space Expo Georgia, III Pavilion.

A great place for whiskey enthusiasts where you will be able to discover and taste the whiskey of your dreams, learn about news, attend tastings and masterclasses led by ambassadors invited from different countries.

Tbilisi Coffee Festival at Underwheel Club

If the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning is coffee, then get prepared and attend the Tbilisi Coffee Festival at Mtatsminda, Underwheel Club on 20, 21 and 22 of September.

The event includes an exhibition of representatives of the coffee industry, tasting and an opportunity to buy their products. Franchise offers, workshops, latte art championship, coffee and alcohol championship, SCA certification – Specialty Coffee Association’s official, international certification for baristas, coffee cupping – tasting of coffee beans, tasty food and DJ on the terrace.
